Joseph W. Bergeron, M.D. is a specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Years of practice experience in analysis of musculoskeletal injury and impairment lead to an interest in the crucifixion of Jesus and the physiological factors that caused his death. Dr. Bergeron authored a peer reviewed medical journal article on Jesus’ cause of death for the Journal of Forensic and Legal Medicine. He also co-authored an article with Gary Habermas, Ph.D. for the Irish Theological Quarterly examining the “Hallucination Hypotheses” that seek to explain away the disciples’ belief that Jesus had risen from the dead to bodily life again. Dr. Bergeron’s book, The Crucifixion of Jesus: A Medical Doctor Examines the Death and Resurrection of Christ offers expanded discussion of his prior works plus includes detailed descriptions of the historical context, archeological evidence, the politics, the conspiracy to kill Jesus, and Roman crucifixion practices. Through this detailed study, Dr. Bergeron adds clarity to the understanding of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Dr. Bergeron is available to speak in churches, conferences, and universities.
